These Are The Moments

As we finished up dinner tonight a song came on the ipod that made Scott want to dance and he invited me to join him. So we did a little swing dancing in the living room with the kids watching from the table. Then my son got up and grabbed the “point and shoot” we sometimes let him use to take pictures with and took some pictures of us “to put on my wall” he said.

My how 12 years Has Changed Things a Bit

12 years ago Scott and I went on our first date. We went to dinner and then strolled around the shops in downtown Annapolis for midnight Madness. I was so excited and nervous. This was my first REAL date. And what could be more romantic than strolling through historic Annapolis listening to Christmas carols? Even though we didn’t hold hands, (That didn’t come until February). I was still on cloud nine.

Tell Him

Ladies, I have truly enjoyed reading your comments about how your husbands rock. It was probably my most exciting blog week to date. I can’t tell you how much it brightened my day to read such uplifting words about your hubbies. I want to encourage all of you to tell your husbands why they rock. Today. Don’t assume they know. Don’t figure they don’t need to hear it. Don’t wait for them to tell you why you rock first.

Give Away: My Husband Rocks

How often do you plan something special just for your hubbie? No, not your anniversary or his birthday, but just because you love him? While I was at the MOPS convention last month, there was a woman there promoting The Husband Project. Curious, I stopped by her booth. The husband project is basically a guideline for helping wives to focus on their husbands needs. The project is designed to last for 3 weeks.

I've Got A Hot Date Tonight!

Updated…for those those that asked Movie Review Below I’m going on a hot date tonight with my hubby and I am SO excited!! My legs are shaved, eye brows plucked, and I’m even going to wear a skirt and put on make up!! Perhaps I’ll even add a little jewelry for sparkle!! This time we aren’t going to Toys R Us! I got free movie tickets at the grocery store earlier this summer so thanks to Sarah’s raving review, we’re going to see the new Batman Movie and eating dinner too (one where we don’t have to cut food into tiny pieces, sop up spilled milk, AND we can even have a complete conversation)!

Isn't he just awesome?

I think everyone should be so lucky as to be married to an engineer. While it is true that purchasing large or technical products such as televisions, cameras, or computers will take longer as we’ll he’ll have to research the various brands, settings, options and figure out which one is the best price and has the best features for us, when any of those things breaks he is not afraid to open them up and fix them (and since he spend a larger portion of his childhood taking a part such items he actually knows what he is looking at and how to fix it).

Summer Running

Last week I registered for a 10 mile run at the end of August. For over a year now I’ve been wanting to do this. I ran a 5K for the first time when my son was a year old. I ran two more when my 2 year old was 6 mths old. Until last Tuesday, I hadn’t run since. I waited through one of the mildest winter and spring seasons I’ve seen here and decided to start running during the week of record breaking heat.

Going Higher and Lower Then Ever Before

I thought I’d post a picture from my honeymoon since 7 years ago today I was in St Lucia with my hubby. Being married to Scott has been a grand adventure. He’s taken me lower and higher than I thought I’d ever go. Whether it’s exploring the world below sea level, or hiking along a glacier, he’s pushed me to do things I’d never have thought of doing on my own.

In Home Date Nights

With three children under 4, it isn’t always easy to get out for a date night. Sometimes we do date nights at home. We feed the kids a simple dinner… chicken nuggets or hot dogs. While I am getting the kids ready for bed, my husband grills us steak for dinner. We light a candle and enjoy a leisurely dinner together. We get to talk, uninterrupted and enjoy our food while it is still warm.

Weekend Thoughts: What a Man!

This weekend we are celebrating my husband’s 29th birthday. As I look back at some of his baby pictures, (isn’t he such a cutie) I am so thankful for the man he is today and feel incredibly blessed to call him my husband. There are many things I respect about him, but at the top of the list would be his integrity, his perseverance, and his wisdom. We’ve been married almost 7 years now and since I get to live with him day in and day out, I truly get to see all sides of him and I can honestly say that he is consistent and that he genuinely strives each day to glorify God in all he does.
