Last night the kids helped me decorate a birthday cake for Jesus and after singing Him Happy Birthday, followed by a few favorite Christmas carols, we enjoyed cake and ice cream.
Apparently, it is an unwritten rule in our house that when you eat Jesus' birthday cake, you don’t need to use silverware.

After years of research in my test kitchen, I have found that Krusteaz sugar cookie mix tastes better than any of the “from scratch sugar cookies” I have made.
And not only do they taste good, but literally, you pour the mix, add water, and stir!!
This is crucial for me, because with my three preschoolers, Mommy needs to spend her time managing the flour and cutting out of the cookies, not measuring and mixing.
Now if I could just get her to leave them in longer than the time it takes for me to pull them up…

Hmmm, it’s a bit too quiet, better go investigate…
What Mom? You didn’t want me to wash my sister’s hair?
Hmm, well I wasn’t doing that, honest… I was ummm washing my hands…
Yea…no idea how her hair got so wet….
Mom, When’s payback time?
My son often refers to Santa as Saint Nicholas. I guess it’s because of reading Jolly Old Saint Nicholas and Twas the Night Before Christmas.
This week my son decided he wanted to pretend to be Saint Nicholas.
Meet Jolly Old Saint Nick himself…
Check out his sleigh (the blanket…see him holding the reigns?) and note the stuffed bear playing the roll of reindeer.
Filling the stockings…

The kids were treated to a few inches of snow at Grandma and Grandpa’s last week. It was just enough for some sledding!
It’s easy to see that a good time was had by all. Doesn’t my baby look like an oompa loompa? I gotta confess I had quite a few laughs at her expense watching her try to walk around in her big sisters boots and snow suit.

The kids and I took a nature walk last week. As we walked along the path, I realized we had necessary elements for some great pictures.
1. Happy Kids
2. Setting sun
3. Fall leaves
However, we forgot the photographer.
After frolicking along the path gathering leaves and sticks, I noticed that the suns rays were really quite beautiful. I remembered Scott saying that one of the best times of days to get pictures is before sunset.
