What is it about baby animals that pull at a Mommy’s heart and make a genuine Cruella Deville like myself yearn to take them home? Seriously, I am not an animal person. You won’t catch me bending down to pet your dog, ever. And yet I found myself asking my husband if we could bring a goat home because they were “so cute”. Really they were… a mere 4 weeks old…look at them!
Most scrapbooks include pictures of baby’s first steps, first food, first drink from a sippy cup… but where do you put the picture of the first time baby ripped the wallpaper border above her crib?
In our house it’s become a sort of right of passage.
Thank goodness we had lots of extra border from the first time we did the nursery. Poor Winnie the Pooh has been ripped 3 different times!
Jessica over at Farm Fresh Iowa is sponsoring another It’s Real Life carnival this week. The assignment this time is to do a post with a photo tour of “an ordinary day.” So, step right up and come see an ordinary day in the life at the circus…
Our day begins here typically around 7 am or shortly after. My son is usually the first to wake, followed quickly by our middle child.
Check out 5 Minutes for Mom, for more Wordless Wednesdays.
Yea, so let me explain my absence…
I must confess Friday night was more laziness than anything else, as I started a post, still have it in my draft, but the creative juices weren’t flowing like I wanted so I opted to read a book and go to bed early (as in before midnight) to get ready for my BIG morning…
I ran in the Baltimore Half Marathon.
I know I didn’t post this weekend AND it is now Monday afternoon and still nothing…
I started a brief summary in pictures of my weekend’s activities 2 hours ago, but then 5 phone calls and 3 kids up from there naps later and I am still left with this….
yea, so…. I am now feeding my kids some scrambled eggs and then am off to drop my kids off at a friend’s and head to set up for our MOPS meeting tonight….
My oldest two kids and I decided to commemorate the beautiful fall weather this week, by making our very first scare crow. Because we don’t live on a farm and straw is horribly overpriced in these city parts, we opted to stuff our scare crow girl with leaves. We built her during our baby’s nap time, but she woke just in time to watch us put the finishing touches on her.
My recent trip to Dallas, prompted me to bring home some cowboy/girl hats for my kiddos and as I snapped pictures of them playing dress up, I was reminded of some pictures from my past which look very similar.
In the picture below, I am on a riding horse with a cowgirl like hat at around 17 mths… a mere 2 mths older than my baby girl. Like the old Polaroid picture?
Our College has an alumni book which they publish quarterly. In the back is a section where they put baby pics of the alumni’s children (wearing their GCC shirts of course).
When our son was born we were so excited to contact the school and get our tee shirt. I remember taking the picture when he was around 10 mths old. Our hard drive crashed the next day and while we did eventually get all the pictures back, when we did that GCC pic was no longer in the fore front of my mind.
Ya know the kids song, “Father Abraham”? It’s typically popular with Sunday School and VBS kids everywhere. When I taught third grade it was a fav of my students.
Not such a hit with my four year old. I’ve said he’s analytical, and he proved that point.
We’re driving along in the minivan listening to a Kids Praise CD when “Father Abraham” comes on. I’m singing along in my head not really paying much attention when my son asks, “Why does it say I am one of them?
