Check out 5 Minutes for Mom for more Wordless Wednesdays.
I voted today. For some reason this year more than any other, I was grateful for the opportunity to let my voice be heard. Often I am rather cynical about it, voting because I know it is the right thing to do but wondering “why bother” and “Does my vote really matter anyway?”
But today I felt convicted.
There was a time in American history when woman couldn’t vote and there are many countries today where women still can’t vote.
Being a self proclaimed non dog lover and a mother of three preschoolers, I must admit that the dog is not high on the priority list. Her needs sadly get ignored all too often.
I honestly couldn’t tell you that last time poor Maggie had a bath.
But, in the interest of keeping it real, I’d say it was at least last spring.
So, today I decided to give her a bath.
How often do you plan something special just for your hubbie? No, not your anniversary or his birthday, but just because you love him?
While I was at the MOPS convention last month, there was a woman there promoting The Husband Project. Curious, I stopped by her booth. The husband project is basically a guideline for helping wives to focus on their husbands needs. The project is designed to last for 3 weeks.

I do not heart Mondays. AT.ALL. And my reasons why are numerous, so numerous, I’ve composed a list for you.
Scott is back to work and after having him home for 2 days, I miss him. LOTS. Because he is truly my best friend and the house is lonely with him gone. I know we are only 29 but can I just tell you I look forward to retirement when we can spend all day every day just being together… don’t even care what it is we are doing, just that we won’t be a part.

Our neighborhood has two days of trick or treating…because one night of filling your pumpkin with candy just isn’t enough. The shopping plaza in our neighborhood hosts a trick or treating event every year the day before Halloween. It feels like a celebration right out of Gilmore Girls as we stroll from store to store getting candy. It’s become a sort of tradition for us to visit Scott’s parents and grandparents after this so they can see them in their costumes.
Last month the topic of our MOPS (Mothers of PreSchoolers) meeting was patience. As we shared in our discussion groups, one mom shared a verse that she had read which had really helped her control her anger.
James 1:20
“for man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires."
When she read the verse every mom around the table sat up. “Woa, that’s a good one, where is it?
My son told me he knew what I should wear on a tee shirt. He came up with this slogan out of the blue the other day.
“I run like a mommy and my kids cheer all the time when I run
and my husband works so good like a dad, he’s awesome!"
I’m not exactly sure what it means to run like a Mommy.
But after recently receiving the photos from the race photographers, I realized that I learned a valuable lesson at my A10 race which I applied when running my half marathon.
This week the assignment for THAT Family’s carnival, was to post a scary pic from the past. So, I started looking through some old Halloween photos trying to find just the right one…
I was never much into scary, though I did sport a mask in this costume when I was 4 or 5.
My son however, seems to take the prize for his scary costumes…
Here he is at 6 mths sporting his ferocious dragon attire.
